I really wanted to share a clip of what we get up to some mornings. What a joy it is to be able to praise and worship God together. Thank you for being such a lovely group of students who have grown closer to one another, myself and of course our incredible creator! Enjoy this memory, it will be something I treasure forever! Have a lovely Summer. God Bless & Love, Mr Rowse

The children poured in a great deal of effort with their exit point for our "They made a difference" unit. Well done everyone! Great Job! Very proud of all you did today! Everyone has had a great time learning more about electricity and building circuits and learning about components. The next step is to track some of the incredible inventions were made possible as the uses for electricity increased. Some of these inventions are probably more interesting in others. The interesting thing is that some of these inventions made later ones possible. You have all been assigned one electric device to find out more about for our class timeline. Feel free to learn about some of the others too. Enjoy!
What an amazing day of art, presentations and learning! Year 4 welcomed parents, students and even a group of prospective parents through the art exhibition today. It was a long day which showcased the huge amount of learning that has taken place so far in this IPC unit. The children worked hard but had a lot of fun. We all feel it was well worth the effort. Thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed the show with us. Here are a few photos from the exhibition. Next stop "Different Places, Similar Lives" I shall not be moved by Vincent Rowse
There’ll come a time in life When all you see is strife And it can weigh you down But you are ready now Some things don’t seem to change Refuse to rearrange And you may lose your faith But you are truly safe (Pre-chorus) Slow down, lift up your eyes Stand still stretch out your hands Find Him, heart, soul and mind And let your spirit sing (Chorus) I shall not be moved He will go before me He’s at my right hand My God will restore me When things don’t go your way Know there’s a brighter day Though darker times are here You need not walk in fear God will be there for you Just when you need Him to And he will make a way So in your heart just say Please go to the following link where you'll be able to learn that there is so much more to a picture than normally meets the eye. Learn about history and the significance of different items in this fun online activity. Don't forget to print out and use the sheet that goes along with it! Have fun!
http://www.georgewashington.si.edu/kids/portrait.html Hi everyone. I hope you had a lovely weekend with your family. I hope you have found the time to plan your fairy tales and start thinking about your IPC project. A few people appeared to not completely understand what I was asking you to do for this. Let me try and simplify things. For those of you who understood or parents helped you understand, you can jump to the bottom of this post to where the writing becomes larger!
Part 1) Research a chosen artist (this is where you would start by reading about some famous artists, you can use the encyclopaedia link on the 'useful links page'. You may find it helpful.) Part 2) View and comment on a piece of their art (Later, not now, you will find a picture by this artist and then describe different aspects about the picture and make your own observations about the work) Part 3) Produce your own art piece inspired by the artist (You would then be required to produce a piece of work in the style of that artist so for example if you chose to do Claude Monet, you would create a piece of work in the same style/using ideas from that artist's style.) As I mentioned last weeks, for now, students can decide on an artist they really like, find one piece of art that they would like to talk about, and begin doing research and taking notes about the artist to be ready to fill in the templates. Research should cover things like name, life facts, kind of art she/he is famous for, interesting facts about the artist, adjectives that describe the artist, picture and caption, quotes from the artist, and information about how he/she has influenced others. When doing research, students are encouraged to not copy the words from the Internet, but write these ideas in bullet form so they can put them in their own words. There are several sites linked to the class webpage that have biographies of artists to help get you started. For those of you looking for something new/something extra, know that we are moving onto the History of Paintings, Pictures & Photographs. We will start by looking at cave paintings. You can google search some cave paintings and get a lot of ideas about them. With a gmail address, you can even go to Google Art Project and look at amazing pictures which are the first kinds of recorded visual images. Please check out the link below. Then use your ideas from the different cave paintings you looked at and the video to answer the questions on the sheet attached. I was so thankful this morning upon waking up to hear there had been no major incidents in Hong Kong over night. Enjoy the song and keep praying for Hong Kong! At Your name At your name, the mountains shake and crumble At your name, the oceans roar and tumble At your name, angels will bow, the Earth will rejoice Your people cry out (Chorus) Lord of all the Earth we shout your name, shout your name Filling up the skies with endless praise, endless praise Yaweh, Yaweh We love to shout your name O Lord At your name, the morning breaks in glory At your name, creations sings your story At your name, angels will bow, the Earth will rejoice Your people cry out (Chorus) X 2 There is no one like our God, we will praise you, praise you There is no one like our God we will sing, we will sing There is no one like our God, we will praise you, praise you Jesus is our God We will sing (Chorus) x 2 Hi everyone! I hope you had a great couple of days off with friends and family. I have sent a detailed email about work students can be getting on with today to parents. I will list the main points below.
